In January 2025, partners of the WellHome project gathered in Valladolid, Spain, for the official kick-off meeting. Hosted by INTRAS, this first in-person meeting marked the beginning of an exciting collaboration aimed at exploring the connections between wellbeing, interior design, and social inclusion.

The meeting brought together professionals from different countries and fields, including vocational education and training, social inclusion, and design. Partners discussed the project objectives, defined roles and responsibilities, and established a common roadmap for the coming months.

One of the most important activities of the meeting was a co-creation workshop based on the development of scenarios and personas. This process allowed partners to better understand the potential users of the WellHome methodology. By imagining realistic situations and user profiles, participants explored the needs, motivations, and daily challenges faced by people living in social housing services and those participating in vocational training programmes.

Through this collaborative exercise, the partnership developed different personas representing individuals with different backgrounds and support needs. These personas helped the consortium reflect on questions such as:

  • What does a supportive and comfortable living environment mean for them?
  • How can design contribute to well-being and autonomy?
  • What kind of training could help professionals and learners improve living spaces?

The scenarios and personas created during the workshop became a key reference point for the development of the WellHome training programme. They helped ensure that the course content would be practical, relevant, and centred on real users’ needs.

Beyond the working sessions, the meeting also strengthened the partnership. Face-to-face discussions helped build trust among partners and created a shared vision for the project.

The Valladolid kick-off meeting therefore laid the foundations for the entire WellHome journey: a collaborative effort to promote well-being through thoughtful design, inclusive training, and innovative learning approaches.
