MODULE 1- OBSERVE

Lesson 3- Tool specifications

The tool was designed to address concrete, cross-cutting needs, making it highly adaptable and inclusive for educational, therapeutic, design, and social-relational contexts.

The tool can be tailored according to cognitive level, literacy, and communication style. It can be used with adults, adolescents, seniors, or people with cognitive or emotional vulnerabilities. Facilitators may simplify questions, offer “guided” or “visual” versions, or allow free-form completion. This versatility ensures true inclusivity, where content access is guided by a person-centered approach, not technical skills.

The visual structure is clear, open, and non-judgmental. It is not a clinical test but a blank space to fill with thoughts, colors, images, and words. This emotional-graphic aspect reduces resistance, increases familiarity, and stimulates creativity, letting learners feel co-authors, not passive “fillers” of an external form.

The modularity of the tool allows A4 printing, notebook insertion, wall posters, or small illustrated cards. Trainers can add, replace, or incorporate alternative languages (emoji, images, visual/tactile symbols), making it a living tool capable of evolving.

At its core, this tool functions as a relational bridge. By engaging in written and visual self-narration, learners surface themes that promote active listening, emotional understanding, and the development of trust. The facilitator joins the dialogue, interpreting and translating these emergent insights into information that can directly inform the design process.
