- Theotokos Foundation – Greece
“Theotokos Foundation Rehabilitation for Children and Young People with Developmental Disorders” is a non-profit welfare organization offering rehabilitation services to children and young adults (ages 2½–35) with intellectual disabilities and autism. Operating since 1963 under the supervision of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, it is the largest service of its kind in Greece, supporting around 360 individuals with a team of 120 staff. Its person-centered programs include early intervention, education, therapy, daily living skills, vocational training, and Supported Employment.
The Foundation promotes inclusion, empowerment, and equal participation in society. Innovative practices—such as the use of electronic welfare files, ICF-based functionality profiles, and digital rehabilitation plans—ensure high-quality services.
Since 1997, its Supported Employment Service has placed over 200 individuals in the open labour market. Theotokos is active in national and international networks (IASSIDD, EASPD, EPR, EUSE), certified with ISO 9001:2015, EQUASS Assurance, and EOPPEP, and recognized as a Centre of Lifelong Learning with certified adult trainers.
