USE BY THE FACILITATOR
In the LISTEN TO YOUR SENSE tool, the role of the facilitator is similar to that of a silent and welcoming director, who prepares the setting, guides the experience, and receives the learner’s outputs with sensitivity and openness.
The facilitator is not meant to explain “what to do,” but rather to invite learners to “feel,” allowing meaning to emerge over time – without haste or premature interpretations.

During the activity, it is important to:
- Introduce the context in a narrative way, explaining that it is a journey to listen to one’s body and imagine color through the senses.
- Accompany each sensory experience with a pause for listening and silence, without interruption or prompting judgments.
- Invite the learner to represent what they felt, using words, shapes, strokes, colors, or materials.
- Welcome the outputs empathetically, offering supportive questions if needed (“What emotion did it give you?” “Does it remind you of something?” “What color does it have for you?”) without forcing answers.
At the end of the activity, the facilitator may propose a collective or individual reflection, in which each learner has the opportunity to share their experience if they wish.
This moment is not mandatory but can help transform perception into design awareness.
In parallel, the facilitator may take observational notes – such as behavioral signals, bodily attitudes, or expressed emotions – always with respect for the individual’s privacy and dignity.

USE BY THE LEARNER
This tool can be used either individually or in small groups, adapting the pace and complexity of the experience to the learner’s profile. The user is invited to live the experience with eyes closed , in order to amplify perception and imagination. Contact with the sensory material takes place in a respectful, almost ritual way, and translates into a subjective and non-binding output. Representation may take the form of drawings, colors, free shapes, or evocative words, with no aesthetic or performance expectations.
Each person is free to share or keep what they have produced; in either case, the experience generates a resonance that, over time, can foster new awareness of one’s relationship with space, materials, and personal sensory identity.
To support this process, the module provides two key materials: (1) a PowerPoint presentation for facilitators to introduce the LISTEN TO YOUR SENSES tool in a clear and structured way, and (2) a simplified learner handout that explains the purpose of the activity and how the tool works. These materials help ensure a consistent, accessible, and gentle introduction to the activity for all learners.
